The Four Noble Truths are a debugging protocol for suffering. The Eightfold Path is the fix. The Dao De Jing is a systems-thinking manual. All three are directly applicable to trading.

1. Dukkha (unsatisfactoriness): Trading involves unavoidable discomfort — drawdowns, missed trades, regret. This is not fixable. It is structural.
2. Samudaya (origin): The suffering comes from attachment — to being right, to linear equity curves, to past performance.
3. Nirodha (cessation): You can stop attaching. The edge exists but doesn’t need your ego to validate it.
4. Magga (the path): The Eightfold Path below.

Bid and ask. Bull and bear. Volatility and calm. Expansion and contraction. These are not oppositions — they are complementary forces that create each other. A trend cannot exist without a range to break from. A crash cannot occur without a prior rally. Trading the polarity rather than fighting one side is the Dao approach.
