Engineering Sandbox practice ยท teoria drills

Hear the interval, then name the distance between the notes.

This drill keeps the original Teoria runtime intact, but reframes the page around one job: listen, compare the two notes, and lock in the interval quality before you answer.

How to use this page

Start the exercise first, replay the prompt until the distance feels stable, then answer before peeking at the score. If you get stuck, switch answer modes and compare what the keyboard and notation views are telling you.

Why this drill matters

Interval recognition is one of the fastest bridges between staff reading and hearing. Once the distance becomes familiar, harmony and melody analysis both get easier.

Listen: replay the pair before answering. Compare: use the keyboard view when the label feels fuzzy. Track: score changes after every response.
